Digital Photography Information Which It's Simple To Implement

By Allison Maggie Sanchez

There's no replacing great advice for someone who is entirely new to the art of photography. There are a lot of unexpected ups and downs that you all must deal with at times, but the end result can still be amazing photography. The following article contains some great ideas and tips on how you can go about getting started on the path to becoming a good photographer.

When dealing with any kind of landscape subject, you need to make sure that your photos have three very important things. These include a mid ground, a background, and a foreground. These are important for photography, but also in other kinds of art.

Here is a little did-you-know photo hint! When you know how the shutter speed affects your photographs, you can manipulate them to add interest to your pictures. On your camera, you should find several settings including the S, M, A, and P settings. P is for program mode. In this fully automatic camera setting, your shutter speed and aperture are set for you automatically. When you don't know which setting to use, the "P" setting will help you capture a great shot.

Hold the camera at eye level to people you are photographing. This gives the photo a more personal feel and create perspective. If you are getting pictures of the kiddies, you may need to drop down on your knee to get the correct height.

You can use the same golden rule used by painters for generations: divide the composition into thirds, top to bottom and left to right. Put your subject where the lines cross than in the middle of the photo, to make the photo more intriguing.

Always set white balances yourself. You can be in control of your own lighting and exposure if you choose your own settings for white balance. Using white balance properly can remove the yellow tint from your photographs and generally alter the entire mood of any shot.

Taking photographs at night brings another aspect into your photography. If there's not enough natural light for your photograph, take the time to set up the scene with as many alternative resources as you need. When photographing at night, you can employ the use of slow shutter speeds and a variety of artificial lighting options.

Keep the settings on your camera simple. Focus on learning a single aspect of your camera's settings before moving on to the others. This allows you to experiment with the setting in different ways, and helps you get good shots without fiddling over a bunch of settings while your subject gets bored and leaves.

Make sure you use optical zoom rather than digital zoom if you want to take close-up shots. Cameras will let you zoom in as close to an object as you want, but once you pass the limits of the camera's optical zoom and switch to digital zoom, the image will become pixelated. Digital zoom mode interpolates the pixels of the shot and adds them into the photograph, which lowers the quality of the picture. The manual for your camera should have instructions to disable digital mode.

There were probably at least a few suggestions and tips that will get you interested in trying new ways to take great pictures. If you apply these tips, you can enjoy the results you seek. Continue tweaking your photographs until you get the shots you want.

The Nikon Coolpix S8000 User Features

By James Smith

Almost everyone enjoys looking at photographs that remind them of special times in their lives. Some think it is impossible to get quality prints unless they invest in complicated equipment that costs a small fortune. Luckily, there is the Nikon Coolpix S8000 which delivers perfect images at a very affordable price.

There are a wide range of automatic adjustment and preference settings on this device. With a simple flip of a switch, lighting and movement issues are under control. It is amazing how many useful and creative features are integrated into this camera that is so small and so slim that it sits comfortably in the palm of a hand.

When size is an issue, this camera is one of the slimmest and easiest to handle choices available. It weighs just 6.5 ounces even with the battery in and is less than 5" big. This tiny little machine can turn out some major quality photos

Photos are taken at an incredible 14.2 megapixels and can be printed in large sizes up to 16x20 without losing their quality. This amazing device even has macro shooting capabilities that allow clear images to be produced from as close as a single centimeter away from the subject. Consistently great pictures will be captured using the auto-focus and other specialized settings available.

To reduce the chances of smudged pictures when photographing moving objects, the camera is equipped with four anti-blur settings. The Vibration Reduction and ISO 3200 Light Sensitivity functions work together to produce perfect images of mobile subjects in low light. To stabilize the effects created by an excited sports fan snapping away, the Advanced Motion Detection compensates for the bouncing of the device itself.

To ensure that the quality is always the best it can be, users can implement the Best Shot Selector function. When this is turned on, the camera will automatically take up to ten sequential shots in less than three seconds. From these images, those of poor results will be deleted while the sharpest photos are saved to make sure the memory is well preserved.

A 10x optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens is standard on this model of camera. It scopes in from 30mm to 300mm almost instantly to provide incredible close up shots. One impressive feature of this function is that while it focuses a sharp up close image on the subject, it also maintains a quality in-focus wide angle image of the surrounding landscape. This results in amazing photographs with rich detail and super sharp colors.

Great HD video can be recorded at 30fps and in 720p with this device. Stereo sound captures and reproduces realistic quality audio. HDMI playback can be viewed on the LCD, a PC or compatible TV. The 3" VGA screen has an anti-glare coating that permits all pictures and movies to be reviewed and edited even in the brightest lighting conditions.

Perhaps one of the more popular features available on the Nikon Coolpix S8000 is the Creative Slider. This is an innovative way to review images and make adjustments to brightness, tone and saturation with just a slide of finger. The results are displayed in real-time on the LCD so that the user can always make sure they get the picture exactly as they want it.
